With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elaine Ebsen of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Tracy, Minnesota, who passed away on July 1, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Nybo and Ida Nybo (Pletten); her former husband Waldemar Nelson (Wally); her husband Melvin Ebsen; her siblings, Raymond Nybo, Myrtle Collins, Lelyn Nybo, Luverne Nybo, Germaine Buchholz and Cleone Mickelson; and her children-in-law, Kaye Nelson and Daryl Crandall.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Nelson of Glenwood, MN, Anita Heinz of Brookings, SD, Wesley Nelson (Dianne) of Ankeny, IA, Bill Nelson of South Haven, MN, Jim Nelson (Jeanne) of Altoona, WI and Stacy Thompson (Gene) of Brookings, SD; and her stepchildren, Loren Ebsen (Marsha) of Greeley, CO, Merlyn Ebsen (Colleen) of Graceville, MN, Brenda Hyronimus of Worthing, SD, Gary Ebsen (Chris) of Milbank, SD, Debbie Jibbens (Randy) of Milbank, SD and Byron Ebsen (Joanne) of Milbank, SD. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation or to Brookings Home Health and Hospice.
