He was predeceased by: his parents, Nels Sandene and Marie Sandene (Lefdal); his son Jerry Sandene; and his siblings, Raymond, Robert Sandene, Dorothy Bartling and Lillian Trevort.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Sandene of Sioux Falls; his children, Janet Phelan (Denny) of Gilbert, AZ, Joan Sandene (Natalie) of Colorado Springs, CO and Jeff Sandene (Dana) of Charelston, WV; his grandchildren, Melanie Clark (Jon) of Gilbert, AZ, Rachel Martinez (Matt) of Santa Rosa, CA, Torie Sandene of Winston-Salem, NC and Ty Sandene of Baltimore, MD; and his great grandchild Zane Clark.
In honor of Don, donations/memorials may be sent to Sanford Ava's House/hospice, Sioux Falls or their favorite charity.
