He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Olson and Ione Olson (Sederstrom); his son Danny; and his siblings, Sanford, Donald 'Hut', Lewis 'Darwin' and Donna Lou.
He is survived by: his son Davey; his wife Diane Olson of Brookings, SD; his children, Timberly Olson (Dony Hai) of Brookings, SD, David Olson (Nastassa Dutton) of Brookings, SD and Lisa Behrend (Brooks) of Brookings, SD; and his sisters, Darlene Corey of Howard, SD, Darla Mae Petri of Apple Valley, MN and Delphae Boyd (Jim) of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
David spent the first 20 years working hands on until Parkinson's Disease slowed him down.
