He was predeceased by: his parents, Amil Betlach and Martha Betlach (Moravic); and his sisters, Charlotte Betlach and Elaine Skalicky. He is survived by: his wife Betty Conklin of Brookings, SD; his sons, Douglas (Sandra) of Mount Dora, FL and Larry (Melanie) of Brookings, SD; and his grandchildren, Libby Minter of Bismarck, ND, Alex Betlach of Brookings, SD, Kilian Oakland (Macy Parker) and Matthew (Kirsten). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
