Loretta K. Abeln Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta K. Abeln of Aberdeen, South Dakota, who passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Meier and Magdalena Meier (Ehnes); her former husband Alvin Abeln; and her siblings, George Meier, Betty Daschle, Henry Meier, Bernie Meier, Larry Meier, Roy Meier, Margie Veith, Carolyn Heier, Adele Meier and Frances Meier.
She is survived by: her husband Doug Abeln (Della); her children, Bethany and Mark (Kelly); her grandson Kaden Kampa; her son Don Abeln (Vonne); her grandson Isaac (Nikki); her children, Dillon, Alex, Philip (Lindsey), Kali, Aubrey and Tony (Kayla); her grandchildren, Selah, Shema and Lily; her child Dale Abeln (Dianne); her granddaughter Lisa Thompson (Mitch); her children, Kate, Anna, Adam (Katherine) and Rob Abeln (Lisa); her grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor and Brady; her daughter Denice Dunker (Doug); and her siblings, Shirley Gellhaus and Andy Meier. She is also survived by her five children, grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the Schriver's Memorial Chapel (414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen, SD 57401). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (409 2nd Ave NE, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
