He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Giovanoni and Sara Giovanoni (Cassiani); his wife Mary Josephine Jackson; his children, Richard Giovanoni Jr. and Mary Giovanoni Mattax; and his siblings, Ann Giovanoni and Joseph Giovanoni.
He is survived by: his sister Margaret Mary Utka of West Bridgewater, MA; his children, Lynda Marie Heffernan (Thomas) of York, SC, Father Peter Giovanoni of Ridge, MD and Steven Giovanoni (Lisa) of Shertz, TX; and his grandchildren, Mary Mattax of Fairfax, VA, Emma Edgeson (Adam) of Martinsburg, WV and Matthew Giovanoni (Chris). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
