She was predeceased by: her father John Henry; and her husband Arthur Pharr. She is survived by: her children, Jerry Howell of York, SC, Gene Hemphill of York, SC, Jeffery Howell of York, SC, Michael Howell of Bishopville, SC and Tracie Howell of Columbia, SC; her brother James Howell (JW) of York, SC; and her stepdaughter Darlene Orr (Chalmers). She is also survived by four brothers-in-law, eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and three godsons.
