It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lillie Bell Brooks-Hobbs (York, South Carolina), born in Denmark, South Carolina, who passed away on May 1, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon William Henry Stanley and Deaconess Lillie Mae Stanley; her husband Roy Hobbs; her grandson Lamar Brooks; and her siblings, William Henry Stanley, Jr., James Stanley, Hattie Louise Guess, Ida Mae Mainer and Eartha Lee Parlor.
She is survived by: her former husband Louis Brooks; her children, Darrow Brooks of Denmark, SC, William Brooks of East Orange, NJ, Ina Mae Brooks and N. Y. Eric Brooks Queens (Rowena); her stepson Devon Haynes of Bronx, N. Y; her brothers, Horace Stanley of Columbia, SC, Timothy Stanley (Gloria) and Alphonso Bursey (Brenda); and her grandchildren, Sharell Brooks, Jamar Brooks (Kim), Latoya Williams, Heaven Morse, Tyrique Brooks, Eric Brooks, Jr., Arnadell Brooks and Dominque Butler. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
