He was predeceased by: his daughter Lindsay Gillespie; and his parents, David Lindsey Gillespie, Sr. and Mary C. Robinson Gillespie. He is survived by: his son David Lindsey Gillespie, III of Charleston; his siblings, Corey Gillespie of Duncan, SC, Lynn McManus of Rock Hill and Lisa Yohman of Boiling Springs, SC; and his grandchildren, Aydem Rozier, Piper Gillespie and Kennedy Kurzweg.
