She was predeceased by: her parents, Joshua Wilson Gill and Willie Mae Whitesides; her grandmother Ethel McGill; her aunts and uncles, Mattie Robinson, Josephine Oates, George McGill and Claude McGill; her brother-in-law Leonard Adams; her son-in-law Mark Mitchem; her brother Leroy Grier; and her nephew London "Monte" Adams.
She is survived by: her husband Otis Whistine; her children, Anitra La'Shawn Mitchem, Miranda Whistine Rainer (Steven) and Otis Antoine Whistine; her brother Joe Frank Whitesides; her aunt Cora Lee McGill; her siblings-in-law, Gladys Faye Adams and Dennis Whistine; her grandchildren, Markia Mitchem, Bre (Asia Mitchem), Sidney Whistine, Trey Swann, Trinitee Swann and Austin Whistine; and her daughter Lisa Adams Thomasson (Anthony). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
