He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Elizabeth Suttles Burnett; his parents, John Marshall and Lena Boyter Burnett; and his siblings, Boyd Burnett and Ruby Burnett.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Burdette (Alvin Burdette), Mary Sue Gosnell (Joe), Patricia Williams (Eddie) and Paleather Burnett, Jr. (Kim); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Morton, Adam, Aaron, Andy Burdette, Perry, Joe, Stephen, Jeffrey Gosnell, Sean, Ian Williams, Nicholas, Victoria and Connor Burnett; and his sister Norma Jean Dillard. He is also survived by 28 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
