He was predeceased by: his former wife Nora Lee Gossett Patterson; his stepmother Lizzie Belle Gossett Patterson; his daughters, Brenda Patterson Smith and Lynn Patterson Jackson; and his siblings, R. C. Patterson and Helen Abercrombie.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Burgess Patterson; his sons, Dr. Michael Lee Patterson (Beth) of Cumming, GA and David Leroy Patterson (Dawn) of Roebuck; his stepsons, Walter Terrell Davis (Jennifer) of Woodruff and Ollie Kenneth Davis (Darlene) of Woodruff; and his sister Gladys Brown (Buford) of Union. He is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
