It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Alverson (Woodruff, South Carolina), born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Emma May Collins Alverson; and his parents, Zarah Dean and Mary Juanita Morrow Alverson. He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Leigh Ledford (Larry) of Simpsonville, SC; and his grandchildren, Seth, Drew and Elise Ledford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys Farm, P O Box 713, Newberry, SC 29108.
