He is survived by: his children, Carey Timothy Compton of Union, Thomas Howard Compton of Pauline, Jason Lee Compton of Cross Keys, Rhonda C. Hines of Enoree and Alice C. Comer of Cross Anchor; and his sister Elizabeth C. Bishop of Laurens. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
