He was predeceased by: his parents, John Quincy Ragsdale Sr. and Bobbie Elizabeth Henderson Ragsdale; his brother John Quincy "Johnny" Ragsdale, Jr.; and his niece Lesley Ragsdale Childers. He is survived by: his son Matthew James Waddell (Katie) of Williamston; his sisters, Joan Elizabeth Ragsdale of Williamston, Melissa Mae Duffie (Tom) of Powdersville, Donna Elaine Graddick (Steve) of Greenville and Cindy Ragsdale Thompson of Williamston; his grandchild Maxxwell John Quincy Waddell; his girlfriend Wendy Allen Burgess of Pelzer; and his nieces and nephews, Denna Ragsdale Crawford, Jeffrey Ragsdale (Lia), Jennifer Graddick Godfrey (Jake), Megan Graddick Carlton (Mills), Dillon Ryan Thompson and Heather Nicole Thompson.
