With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Larry E. Rainey Sr. of Williamston, South Carolina, who passed away on February 12, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Larry E. Rainey Sr. to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Rainey and Mary Cecil Rhodes Rainey; his daughter Lynn Cartee; and his siblings, Sue Stringer, Gary Rainey and Brenda Collins.
He is survived by: his spouse Gatha Smith Rainey; his children, Larry Earle Rainey, Jr. (Marie) of Williamston and Denise Lollis (Johnny) of Williamston; and his grandchildren, Ty Lollis, Tanner Lollis, Buddy Rainey, Michael Cartee, Stephen Cartee, Serah Cartee, William Roper and Heather Evatt. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Gray Mortuary (52 Main St, Pelzer, SC 29669). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gray Mortuary Chapel (52 Main St, Pelzer, SC 29669).
