He was predeceased by: his spouse Irene Seay Nicholson; his daughter Joyce Nicholson; his granddaughter Dana Salters; and his siblings, Cora Lee Bracken and Dewey Nicholson.

He is survived by: his spouse Ernestine Nicholson (Splawn); his children, Judy N. Burnett (Ricky) of Campobello, Eddie S. Nicholson, Jr. (Sandra) of Lynn, NC, Roger D. Nicholson (Shari) of Inman and Roy E. Nicholson (Latrelle) of Boiling Springs; and his stepchildren, Susan Groomes (Brandon) of Enoree, Shannon, Robert, Pressley of Spartanburg and Brian Splawn (Jenny) of Boiling Springs. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and a granddaughter raised in the home, Amy Drummond, 24 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkway Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 160283, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
