He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Charles Hinson and Betty Lucielle Starnes Hinson; his son Darryl Ray Hinson; his grandson D. J. Hinson; his sisters, Betsy Hinson and Carol Wrobel; and his half-sister Patsy Phifer.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Hinson; his son Jeffrey R. Hinson (Melissa); his grandchildren, Rayf Hinson and Nikolas Kostarelos; his great grandchild Aria Hinson; his daughter-in-law Nancy H. Hinson; his sister Beverly H. Duncan (Sam); and his nephews, Curtis Wrobel and Charlie Wrobel. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
