It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Caroline Shockley of Warrenville, South Carolina, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William A. Shockley; and her parents, Butler Boyd and Viola Atkinson Boyd. She is survived by: her daughters, Miriam Berendsen (Steve) and Deborah Simmons (Gary); her sister Ola Sims; her grandchildren, Matt Berendsen (Carman), Sarah Padgett (Kevin), Tim Berendsen (Taylor), Mary Latta (Jonathan), Joy Robins (John), Charlie Berendsen (Christie), Amy Acord (Joey) and Bruce Stone (Melissa); and her great grandchildren, Mattie Berendsen, Baylen Berendsen, Chanlyn Berendsen, Savannah Padgett, Carter Padgett, Maddox Berendsen, Violet Berendsen, Nolan Latta, Natalie Latta, Drake Robins, Duke Robins, Morgan Altman (River), Justin Acord, Andrew Stone, Ella Stone and Grady Stone.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service (3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lakeside Baptist Church (4280 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Clearwater, SC 29842).
