She was predeceased by: her spouse Hearl Benjamin DeWitt; her parents, James Woodrow Bailey and Alma Carter Bailey; her daughter Zelda DeWitt Hughes; her grandson Rusty Dismuke, Jr.; her great grandchild Hali Avant; and her sisters, Frances B. Meeler and Christine Connelly.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer DeWitt Dismuke (James) of Alabama and Kay DeWitt Avant (Timmy) of Walterboro; her grandchildren, Amber Sinclair (Steven), T. J. Avant (Whitney), Brandon Avant (Haylei) and Skylar Avant (Josh Myzell); her great grandchildren, Bryson, Kaycen, Emma, Caden, Wyatt, Braelyn, Preston and Hadyn; and her siblings, Lavern Bailey of Rosinville and Susan Givens Hiott of Islandton.
