She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen L. Joyner and Kathleen Joyner (Robinson); her spouse Gerome Roberts; and her siblings, Anthony L. Joyner, Howard M. Joyner, Alean L. Joyner, Kathleen E. Joyner and Arthur J. Joyner.
She is survived by: her children, Angela C. Serrano, Vanessa Roberts Avery (Sulaiman), Adam Roberts, Sr., Marleen Y. Roberts-Gibson (Wesley), Paul Nixon and Patricia A. Joyner; her siblings, Allen L. Joyner, Jr., Laten Joyner, Jack L. Joyner, Bessie M. Patterson, Moses S. Joyner and Larry L. Joyner; and her friend Leon Graham. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
