He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Sturkie and Nettie Lela Shumpert Sturkie; and his siblings, Christolee Jones, Albert Sturkie, James W. Sturkie, Etheridge Daniel Sturkie (E. D.) and Patricia Myra Sturkie.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Frances Johnson Sturkie; his children, Rita Fanning (Donnie), Randy Arant (Raye) and Rhonda Epting (Bill); and his siblings, Rev. Carl Sturkie (Camilla), Brice Sturkie, Betty Rish and Carolyn Henderson (Jerry). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
