With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roy Wayne Austin of Rock Hill, South Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on February 3, 2021 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Troy Austin and Della Summers Austin; and his siblings, Robert, James, Richard, Donald, Dot Swain, Nancy McLeod and Carol Austin.

He is survived by: his wife Angela Howell Austin; his sons, Keith Austin (Kim) of Rock Hill, SC and Ken Austin (Karen) of Monroe, NC; his brother Bill Austin (Gwen) of Matthews, NC; his grandchildren, Laine Feldt (Tyler), Colby Austin (Becky), Taylor Austin (Kellie) and Bailey Austin; and his great grandchildren, Remy Austin, Rylee Austin and Sullin Feldt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Austin's name to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church 1024 Rawlinson Rd., Rock Hill, SC, 29732 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-9959.

“Angie, Keith & Ken and families, I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. He was such an inspiration to all of us at Plaza Baptist in the 1970's. I enjoyed working with Angie for over 8 years and Keith & Ken participated in my first wedding, so even though I have not been in touch in a long time, Roy and all of you were a big part of my memories and I love you all very much.
