She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Deese and Bessie Price Deese; her husband James S. Starnes; and her son Randy Starnes. She is survived by: her children, Sylvia S. Franks of Fort Mill and Bruce Starnes (Dana Hope) of Fort Mill; her grandchildren, Nikolas Franks (Lindsay), Jordan Franks (Stephanie) and Shannon Newell; and her great grandchildren, Pierce Franks, Audrey Franks and Miranda Wood.
