He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Newton and Julia Newton; and his siblings, Lawrence Newton Jr. and Jean Norris. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Jenny Newton Poston and John Richard Newton Jr.; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Katelynn Poston, Maya, Julia and Cale Newton.
