He was predeceased by: his parents, John Grant Garnett, Sr. and Carolyn Lyle Garnett. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hackett Garnett; his son Richard Grant Garnett of Rock Hill; his granddaughters, Jessica Marie Garnett and Elizabeth Ann Garnett; and his brothers, Robert Lyle Garnett of Harrisburg, NC and James Benford Garnett of Harrisburg, NC..
