He is survived by: his daughter Charlton Bechtler Douglas of Rock Hill; his wife Judy Penland Smiley Bechtler of Rock Hill; and his stepchildren, Mike Smiley (Shari Lynn) of Charlotte, NC, Debbie Ford (Doug) of Louisville, TN, Jan Todd (Tony) of Boone, NC, Cindy Williamson (Lawrence) of Simpsonville, SC and Kathy Donnelly (Chris) of Cookeville, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
