He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Johnson and Marie Hunter Johnson; and his siblings, Cathy Johnson, Elaine Johnson and George "Edward" Patterson.

He is survived by: his friend Vera Long; and his siblings, Viola Jones, Melissa Paschal and Harry "Pete" Patterson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
