He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Stewart and Thelma Roberson Stewart; and his nephew James Ryan Stewart. He is survived by: his wife Susan Lambert Stewart; his sons, John William "Will" Stewart, II (Rachel) of Spartanburg and Stephen Stewart of Pawleys Island; his brother James C. "Jim" Stewart, II (Nancy) of Spartanburg; his nieces and nephews, Matthew Stewart of Washington, DC, Michael Lambert (Renee) of Georgetown, Nicky Lambert of Georgetown, Dwayne Gilbert (Britney) of Brookneal, VA, Megan Freehling (Joey) of Spartanburg and Kayla Gilbert of Georgetown; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Lambert (Marilynn) of Georgetown and Jatanna Gilbert (Eddie) of Georgetown.
