It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James W. Dickens Jr. of Orangeburg, South Carolina, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dickens, Sr. and Claire-Mae Poole Dickens. He is survived by: his wife Margie Purcell Dickens; his daughter Marcy Hughes (Timmy) of Orangeburg; his granddaughters, Adrienne Wood (Jason), Reba Hughes (Nick Riley) and Grace Fogle (David); his great grandchildren, Mary-Grace Wood and Oliver Wood; his sister Betty Bowman of Livermore, KY; and his caregiver Shamika. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
