She was predeceased by: her parents, James E. Whetstone and Edna Blackmon Whetstone; and her son-in-law Jack Richardson. She is survived by: her husband Thomas M. Carter, Sr.; and her children, Janice Richardson of Charleston, Karen Ferguson of Orangeburg, Tommy Carter, Jr. (Melissa) of Neeses and Michael Carter (Tracy) of Orangeburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
