He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Gillette and Margaret Gwendolyn Young Gillette; his sisters, Elaine Gillette Krawzak and Ellen Gillette Walker; and his sister-in-law Debbie Bentley Gillette.
He is survived by: his children, Chuck Gillette (Pam) of James Island, SC and Meg Gillette of North Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Michael Gillette, Morgan Gillette and Madeline Gillette; his siblings, Cleve Gillette (Linda) of Hanahan, SC, Will Gillette of Hanahan, SC and Mary Gillette Lysitt (Bobby) of Jacksonville, FL; his uncle A. K. Fazenbaker of Bossier City, LA; and his in-laws, Chuck Cross (Ruth) of North Charleston, SC, Kathleen Williams of Hanahan, SC and Joe Cross (Becky) of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
