It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Elliott of Nichols, South Carolina, born in Dillon, South Carolina, who passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hickman Smith and Ethel Cook Smith; her husband Herman Elliott; her son Tonny Elliott; and her siblings, J. T. Smith, Theo Smith, Annie Mae Sanders and Winnise Bailey.

She is survived by: her children, Terry Elliott of Nichols, Debbie Elliott Bailey of Dillon, Brenda Elliott Johnson (Garrett) of Green Sea and Sandra Elliott of Nichols; her siblings, Bill Smith (Lois) of Asheboro, Charlie Smith (Joyce) of Randleman, Ella Jacobs (James) of Asheboro and Janie Jones (Milton) of Powhatan, Virginia; her grandchildren, Ricky Philips, Jr. (Melissa) of Nichols, Charlie Phillips (Marie) of Nichols and Christy Bailey of Dillon; and her stepgranddaughter Tammy Byrd of Conway. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
