He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Hyatt, Sr. and Loree McManus Hyatt; his daughter Julia Melissa Hyatt; and his brother Richard Clyde Hyatt. He is survived by: his wife Sandra S. Poirel of Pawleys Island, SC; his children, James "Jimmy" Lewis Hyatt, II (Deb) of Wallace, NC, Donald Llyod Hyatt (Allison) of Clover, SC and Deborah Luanne Hyatt of Simpsonville, SC; his stepsons, Dennis Anthony Poirel of Myrtle Beach and Christopher Lee Poirel (Brooke) of Pawleys Island, SC; his grandchildren, Richard Hyatt (Meg), Matthew, Hayley (Collin), Jenna (Tyler) and Topher; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Reid, Myles, Henry, Noah, Virginia and Hannah; his brother William Donald Hyatt of Lancaster, SC; and his niece Elizabeth Hyatt Peninger (Wes) of Lancaster.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Belin Memorial United Methodist Church (4182 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576).
