He is survived by: his children, Shanta Weathers, Willie James Joseph Brown Jr. (Ashley), Talbert Brown, Tarik Brown, Waleed Brown (Johnita), Kwame Brown, Saboo Brown, Tyreek Dixon (Stacey), Akeem Brown and Carla Brown; his sister Etta Mae Bryant; his close friend Roy Houston; and his niece Cathymae. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
