It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Edwin Cox Sr. of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, born in Taylors, South Carolina, who passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Cox and Evelyn Ward Cox; his former wife Florine Crosby Cox; his sons, Boyde Lee Barnes "Buddy" and Russell James Barnes; and his brothers, William R. Cox and Joseph W. Cox.
He is survived by: his children, John E. Cox, Jr. (Joe) of Silver Spring, MD., Larry Barnes of Summerville, Dave Sexton (Courtney) of Goose Creek, Ann Bates (Charlie) of James Island, Clarice Miller (TJ) of Middlesex, NY, Deloris Hudson of Mt. Pleasant and Terri Green of Summerville. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
