He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Simmons, Sr. and Julia Spann Simmons; and his siblings, Arthur, Peter, Jr., Bertha, Isadora, Carrie and Francina.
He is survived by: his sisters, Corine Chavis of Moncks Corner, SC and Rev. Thelma Perkins (Deacon John) of Moncks Corner, SC. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews in various states; other relatives and friends.
