He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louis Whitner and Bessie Bowens; his wife Gwendolyn Hudson Whitner; his children, Adrienne Whitner, J. D. of Simpsonville, SC, Tanya E. Whitner, MD (Alan Oliver) of Charlotte, NC and William K Whitner (Tanya); and his sisters, Sarah Allen of Greenville, Genieve Holliday of Greenville and Georgia Whitner of Greenville. He was also cherished by four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
