He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Burkett and Christine Harmon Burkett; and his siblings, Johnny, Roy, Henry Burkett, Sylvia McGee and Martha Outzs.
He is survived by: his wife Shelby C. Burkett; his children, Victor Burkett (Cathy), Clay Burkett (Molly), Steve Burkett, Lisa Smith (Andy) and Wendy Burkett (Johnny Feaster); and his brother Mike Burkett (Sandra). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
