He is survived by: his wife Bertha Cook Simpson; his children, James Simpson (Fredia), Johnny Simpson (Carolyn), Sedrick Simpson, Lenora Talley (Gene) and Ann Foggie (Chris); and his sisters, Sarah Watts, Ethel Mae Foggie (Donald), Rose Martin and Rebecca Jenning (Johnny). He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
