He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father John Oscar Rice, Sr.; his children, Minister Tommy Rice, Johnny Rice (Deborah), Rose Thompson and Mary Alice Nance; his siblings, James Rice, Bobby Rice, Ernest Rice (Bertha), Shirley Redmond (Dean) and Jannie Rice; his aunt Elizabeth Rice; and his siblings-in-law, Robert McGowan, Sr. and Shirley Brown. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
