He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel E. Compton, Sr. and Corrie Cunningham Compton; and his brother Samuel E. Compton, Jr. (Carol D. Compton, Sr.). He is survived by: his son Lewis Compton (Angela) of Laurens; his grandson George Lewis Compton III (Macy Calvasina); and his brother James Todd Compton (Marian) of Clinton.
