It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carroll Eugene Smith (Laurens, South Carolina), who passed away on March 18, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Iris Hughes Smith; his parents, Carl T. Smith and Myrtle T. Smith; his brothers, Harold Smith, Bill, Maurice, Merle and Charles Smith; his stepmother Sudie M. Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Ethel, Wilma Smith and James T. Hughes.
He is survived by: his son Robert W. Smith (Terry); his grandsons, Robert W. Smith II (Samantha) and Jonas L. Smith; his great grandchild Charles W. Smith (Charlie); and his sisters-in-law, Joan Smith, Lucille Smith of Mountville and Jane Hughes of Simpsonville. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
