James Stover Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Stover (Lancaster, South Carolina), who passed away on May 17, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Stover and Onie Bell Waiters Stover. He is survived by: his wife Rev. Gloria Ingram Stover; his children, Rev. Tammy S. Wheeler of Lancaster, SC, Jeanette Stover of Lancaster, SC, Marquettia S. Stover of Lancaster, SC and Frederick L. Stover of Lancaster, SC; and his siblings, Lloyd Snipes of Rock Hill, SC, Barbara S. McEntyre of Lancaster, SC and Marsha Smith of Virginia Beach. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 26th 2023 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (410 W Meeting St, Lancaster, SC 29720). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 27th 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Mt Zion Ame Zion Church (317 E Barr St, Lancaster, SC 29720). Viewing will be held on Monday, May 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home (410 W Meeting St, Lancaster, SC 29720).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in honor of James Stover and Barbara Stover McEntyre to be made to the Stover Legacy Foundation scholarship fund. Donations can be made by check payable to the foundation via mail to PO Box 1974, Lancaster SC 29720.
