She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Monroe Vassey; her parents, Charles Blaine Baber and Clara Etha Pettit Baber; her siblings, Charles Baber, Jr., Nanette LeMaster and Nanette Dellinge; and her son-in-law Walter Jones.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Jones of Charlotte, Nan Truesdale (Steve) of Lancaster and Claire Cauthen (Steve) of Fort Mill; her sister Joanna Wilson (Don) of Georgia; and her grandchildren, David Jones (Mary), Jenny Lutz (Gene), Joanna Reames (Dennis), Daniel Truesdale (Cheanea), Christopher Cauthen (Justine) and Brittany Cauthen. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
