She was predeceased by: her parents, Moriah Smith Davis and Chick Hester; her husband Dan Lewis Bowman; her daughters, Rosella McBride, Nellie Ann Bowman, Brenda Hall and Irene Paul; her grandchildren, Christopher Thompson and Carmencita Turman; her great grandchildren, Keyondez Turman, Bendarius Turman, Justice and Jaivion Hester; her mother-in-law Lucinda Bowman; her sister Dorothy Hester Gray McDuffie; her siblings-in-law, Joe M. Bowman, Elmer Bowman, Jr., Shirley Bowman and Hattie Bowman; and her sons-in-law, Larry McBride and George David "Coon" Willingham.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Thompson (James) of Anderson, SC, Mattie Willingham (Manuel) of Anderson, SC, Elizabeth Baskin (Larry) of Anderson, SC, Gracie Brown of Anderson, SC, George Hester of Iva, SC, Robert Hester of Iva, SC and Joe D. Bowman (Pam) of Seneca, SC; her sister Sylvene Webb of Anderson, SC; her grandsons, Ed'Dorus "Kinta" Willingham, RoJay Hester and BJ McBride; her siblings-in-law, Melvin Bowman (Ida Mae), Johnny Bowman, Doellen Bowman-Paul (J. L.) and Mattie Mae McGowan; and her close friend Ruth Hunter. She is also survived by grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
