He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Shaw, Sr. and Mamie Cummings Shaw; his daughters, Kimberly Jane Shaw and Sheila Renee Mullinax; his granddaughter Ashlee Nicole Rushton; and his close friend Patricia Stone.
He is survived by: his son John Daniel "Danny" Shaw; his grandchildren, James Robert Rushton, Devon Jelon Harbin, Jonah Deacon Shaw, Felicity Téa Shaw and Dayton Kale Shaw; and his sister Sara Shaw Merck. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
