She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Elmore Payne and Sallie Joyner Payne Phillips; her grandchild Jared Catoe; and her siblings, Robert E. Payne and Florence Whitaker.
She is survived by: her husband Maurice "Son" Catoe; her children, Sonny Catoe (Jan), Brenda C. Ellis (Wayne) and Sherry C. Gowan (Rick); her grandchildren, Cassandra E. Eckstorm (Andy), Angela E. Jordan, Kevin M. Ellis, Griff Catoe, Brannan Catoe (Lindy) and Tyler Gowan; her great grandchildren, Cameron Jordan, Chance Jordan, Jonathon Ellis, Justin Ellis, Eli Eckstorm, Brent Catoe, Jackson Catoe, Toby Catoe and Taelor Gowan; and her brother Jimmie Phillips. She is also survived by 12 step-brothers and step-sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to Fork Hill Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1125 Fork Hill Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
