He is survived by: his wife Peggy Outen Bowers; his children, Sherry Plyler (Mike) of Heath Springs, S. C., Melissa Gates (Doug) of Lancaster, S. C. and Randy Bowers (Lea Ann) of Kershaw, S. C.; his grandchildren, Joshua Gates (Monica), Justin Gates (Nikki), Ryan Payne (Alona), Tyler Bowers (Hannah) and Andrew Bowers; his great grandchildren, Abby Gibson, Reese Gates, Jeremy Revels, J. J. Gates, Reid Gates, Eli Boone and Layla Gates; his pet Abby; and his brothers, William Bowers (Peggy), David Bowers (Peggy) and Woodrow Bowers.
