He is survived by: his children, Charles Timothy Whitaker of Rock Hill, James Crawford Whitaker of Lancaster and Cheryl Whitaker Johnson (James) of Lancaster; his grandchildren, David Whitaker, Michael Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Kent Scott, Matthew Scott, Cory Whitaker, Courtney Whitaker, Shana Johnson, Candice Johnson, Makayla Scott and Amber Scott; his siblings, Myrtis Deese of Lancaster, Vickie Sanders (Tommy) of Las Vegas, NV and John Whitaker (Pam) of Heath Springs; his father-in-law Wylie W. Craig; and his siblings-in-law, Junior, Buddy Craig and Janice Craig Stamm. He is also survived by his 16 great-grandchildren.
